School Days

25. and 26.3.

We had the wonderful opportunity to show our project to students.
An english teacher from An Giang University asked us to do this,
it became an inspiring evening for the students and for us.
Most of them thought about the waste appearance here before. We tried
to raise their attention for this problem and give them examples how to
reduce the waste production in daily life.
I think this was fun for the kids and I know it was fun for us because they
were good listeners and very curious about what we do and why.

As it went out so well and its important to announce young educated people
with this issue, we had an other presentation at the next morning and a
spontaneous one after that. This makes one houndret listeners so far I showed
my diploma to, it feels quite rewarding.

Waste Workers

23.2.
Marcus calls in the morning. He is heading to a festival in Mui Ne and will
come back one or two days later, I feel pain in the pleasure centre of my head,
but it gets better when he tells me that he'll bring two french recruits after the
electronic joydom.

Our garbage removal friends who work next to us wondered
many times why the bodies we sew from the clothes we found,
have no heads and if this is okay.

They give many nice waste presents to us and they have a good
feeling for what we need, a plastic heart, a plastic turtle, a christmas ball,
plastic flowers, a toy car, a cotton blanket, many trousers and jackets
and also a  few breads, made of bread.

22.3.
trying another version of the Fremdteilchen to save ants from getting
caught in a plastic body and to waste less of tape and wrapping foil.

The monsters we put here 10 days ago look pretty brutalised already.
There was a drunken man using the big eyes of the snail thing as punshing
balls while we took care of its wounds. Elli gave him a severe glance.

Hei Ku took a huge hammer from behind the corner to ram
a wooden bar into the ground and put our big eyed snaily up again, who must
have been ridden by somebody in the meantime. He is a very genuine nice
man but I think his vietnamese style construction is not completely trustworthy.

21.3.
Marcus will spend a long weekend in Saigon for reasonable fun matters.

As Diem takes a break from wasting around to have some family days and left yesterday,
it's up to Elli and me now to keep it going.

Tiger Island
We look for a nice muddy place I'd like to use for a before and after picture,
to pretend that we always tidy up any collecting spot propperly. Annie from the
United States of America shows us a peaceful Island just 15 minutes from the
ferry harbor, so finally we use one of the ferrys in the way they should actually be used .

Annie's shoe is dirty

20.3.
back to urbanity

I catched a cold from sleeping in the hammock and sweating, there must be some irony in this.

The boat goes to Long Xuyen in the evening because we have an
important meeting with a german do-gooder to work out if and when it's
possible to do something bigger together and to celebrate the first official
international Happiness Day.

He was enthusiastic and welcoming, there is a good chance for a chance.

Sad Day

16.3.

Robin wanted to document this last day of him at the boat on his own, but he was
so busy crying all day long that I could not risk endangering my sensitive laptop by his tears.
In dedication to Robin, the MVP, the man who lasted the longest at the boat, the guy who said
damn, you're doin' fine honey, each time I was overwhelmed by doubts, this day will be blogged in our beloved mother language.

15.3.
Bye Bye Party

We went back to Thanh Hoa in the morning with our 5 todays fellows from Europe and worked
on different sculptures. They seem to like the idea of our work and support us for one day. Besides Erik, all of them move on to Phu Quoc in the afternoon because of their tight vacation schedule, comprehensible.

Children slowly but surely take over our working space.

party night...

Three permanent Zaugäste whatch us doing the dance for houres.
The next day, we hear a little girl ask her mother if she can go see the superheroes shake their bodies again.

14.3.
Anne doesn't close the gas tap properly.

Thanh Hoa seems like the most clean place we've been so far, but we need
waste to continue working. Taking a closer look and pushing away some branches,
we find a rich trash appearance. It's weird how the perception of waste changed meanwhile and
finding waste piles causes happiness, the bigger the better.

Before lunch we get a call, 4 Germans and 1 Italien who want to join us for a short time arrived already in
Long Xuyen with Nini, so we should come there to share the beautiful experience of our garbage transformation work.

first we share a meal

The 13 of us split up into two teams which collect about ten bags of waste
each (this equals saving one hundred sea animals after latest estimations),
I would say my team won because we were back to the boat before the others.
